Helping young leaders
develop relationships
with
effective nonprofit
organizations.
The La Crosse Community Foundation is proud to unveil CPI - Community Philanthropy Initiative. Past First Friday members and up to 25 new members have an opportunity to make a difference in the community. Members are accepted on a first come/first serve basis.
Become engaged in your community by:
-
learning about area nonprofit organizations and programs that address needs you believe are most important;
-
serving area nonprofit agencies through volunteerism and service projects;
-
meeting and networking with other similarly generous-minded people;
-
recommending the distribution of a single, significant $500 grant to an area nonprofit organization;
-
becoming more involved in community leadership and philanthropy.

To become a member:
-
Anyone is welcome to attend CPI meetings. To join, call Heather at the Community Foundation (608-782-3223) and register for volunteer hours or begin your financial contribution. Financial contributions will be accepted through the “Network for Good” secure link on the Foundation’s website. Click the "Donate Now" button on the Network for Good link and designate the contribution as "CPI."
-
Contribute $250 (as a one time contribution or contribute monthly over the course of the year until October of 2010) earmarked for the CPI online, OR register to volunteer 25 hours with a qualified nonprofit agency, OR combine your financial contributions and volunteer hours. Volunteer hours will be validated by the agency and forwarded to the Foundation.
Members:
-
Will learn more about the agencies that work with important community issues and become connected with those agencies in various ways including: board
-
service, volunteerism, or financial support.
-
May attend monthly meetings at various agencies in the La Crosse area.
-
May participate in grant making in the community by making a recommendation for a significant grant to the charity of your choice. Each member’s $250 contribution will be matched dollar for dollar by a challenge grant so the total single grant award will be $500. Grant recommendations require Foundation board approval as well as subsequent grant reporting to insure accountability and meet IRS requirements.
Make a Contribution
Unfulfilled efforts to generate the annual $250 required in order to participate are still appreciated. These gifts will be added to the Community Foundation’s unrestricted grants’ program.
