The Clara Fields Multicultural Literacy Program-(CFMLP) is designed to reduce poverty and build sustainable prosperity for low-income families; at-risk, and special needs children. The Program promotes and support early childhood literacy to develop prolific readers in each preschooler by the time they start kindergarten and to greatly improve the literacy skills of those children in K-2nd grade and their parents. The program expands their background knowledge creating a broader base on which to build literacy skills.

The mission of Learning Together Family Literacy is to break the cycles of intergenerational poverty, under-education, and under-preparation for the workforce.  The program provides youth and adults with literacy skills necessary for future success; provides early childhood education with an environment rich in language and literacy activities; and assists parents in developing skills that support their children’s literacy development.
