La Crosse County Emergency Response Fund activated in response to COVID-19. More details here.

Current Grant Opportunities

If you are interested in applying for a competitive grant award, we are currently accepting proposals via our online grant portal for the following grants. Click each grant type for more detailed information.

La Crosse Area Emergency Response Fund Grants

This fund was activated on March 18 in partnership with Great Rivers United Way and is sustained through the generous gifts of community members and businesses. Charitable organizations working on the front lines of the pandemic providing direct support to individuals and families suffering the greatest economic impact are invited to apply.

Emergency Survival Grants

This is a new grant opportunity to help charitable organizations in La Crosse County survive the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. These grants will provide unrestricted/general operating support to nonprofits to offset pandemic-related revenue losses and expenses. Grants are to cover fixed expenses for nonprofits whose revenue streams have dramatically slowed because of COVID, yet have substantial fixed costs to maintain.

Standard & Mini Grants

This is our regular, ongoing competitive grant program. We encourage applications for result-oriented projects and programs that address a proven community need or priority aimed at making La Crosse County a better place now and for future generations.

Global Awareness Classroom Grants

This grant opportunity is open just once a year to all K-12 school staff in La Crosse County. Funding is available for classroom projects that expose students to cultural experiences that expand their awareness of the world. Proposals are due October 15th.

New this year: Applications must be submitted through our online grant portal. If you wish to apply and do not have login credentials, email Program Director Katie Berkedal (katie@laxcommfoundation.com).
