REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS – Released September 15, 2023

GLOBAL AWARENESS FUND CLASSROOM GRANT

Attention all K-12 staff in La Crosse County schools! If you would love to bring a special multicultural experience to your students, but need the funds to do it, this grant opportunity is for you!  The Global Awareness Fund Classroom Grant application is short and easy, and we accept multiple requests from each school district in La Crosse County.

The Global Awareness Fund at La Crosse Community Foundation was established to support projects that expand awareness of our multicultural world by helping individuals to identify with people from outside the United States. Its main goal is to encourage a view of the world that goes beyond the familiar to foster global understanding and citizenship.

La Crosse Community Foundation is actively looking to support K-12 classroom projects that align with the fund’s purpose. Requests can be made to enhance existing projects or to develop and introduce a new global awareness learning opportunity to students.

Examples of project ideas include (but are not limited to):

  • A guest speaker or speaker series on a global issue
  • A field trip to experience world cultures
  • A cross-cultural celebration event
  • A theatre production with a global theme
  • A global awareness-themed book read

Any school staff from any private or public school in La Crosse County is eligible to apply. More than one request per school is allowable.

Applicants who’ve received a grant from this program in the past must complete their short follow-up form before applying again.

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE OCTOBER 15th AND AWARDS WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN MID-NOVEMBER.

THE MAXIMUM AWARD AMOUNT IS $2,000. A TOTAL OF $9,600 IS AVAILABLE FOR GRANTS.
