Started in the spirit of the Black Lives Matter movement of 2020, the Black Empowerment Fund was established to support organizations in La Crosse County advancing Black racial justice through work that is guided by members of the Black community most impacted by injustice to win change. Grants from the fund will support, but are not limited to: Black community initiatives, Black culture and arts programs, Nonprofits with Black leaders, Equity training, Scholarships for Black students.  The fund symbolized individuals in La Crosse County who stand against anti-Black racism. It provides a way for members and friends of the local Black community to leave a legacy to these causes.

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor all gifts to the Black Empowerment Fund before December 31, 2020 will be matched up to a total of $25,000.  To give click here and indicate Black Empowerment Fund in the Designation Field.
